Mentoring Sessions

We have a wide range of experience when it comes to house sitting to share with you. If you would like to chat with us we offer mentoring sessions whether you are a house sitter or home owner. We charge $50 for a session. We'll help you get started in your journey as either a home owner looking for a sitter, or a sitter just starting out.

Are you thinking about house sitting? Where do you want to go, and what do you want to do? Maybe you fancy spending time in a waterfront house, or a home in the country? In the centre of the city? A tree house? At the top of the world? There is such a wide range of homes and pets that require house sitting.

Find the Right Match. We believe that the most important thing to do in house sitting, is to find the right match with that of the home owner. For instance, if you're a 'dog person' who adores dogs, then apply for house sits with dogs. If you don't like dogs, don't offer your services to mind one. Sounds like a no brainer doesn't it? And yet people we interviewed to house sit our own home, sarcastically remarked on home owners with 'fur babies' and now I see them advertising themselves as loving dog minders.

Then there are owners who don't want you to be away from the house for any time at all. Well there's no point in taking that on, if you want to sight see that is. However, if you're on the far north coast of Scotland and want to write a book, then that may be your dream home. This is where talking with your potential home owner, and finding if their needs will match yours. Find the best win-win you can. If you love lots of farm animals and are happy to spend a lot of time caring for them, apply, if not, don't.

There are so many homes to house sit, more than people to sit them. So go for that 'right match' and everyone will be happy.

Ballina - River Walk - Dog Beach

We took a path less travelled this trip, only a fluke really and in the process discovered a gorgeous dog beach on the side of the Richmond River in Ballina.

A wander down the riverside walk and you'll find some great sculptures.

And a tender reminder at the War Memorial to honour Vietnam Vets Day. Thinking of someone who served who is no longer with us. Heart-full moment.
