We wandered down to Hallstrom Point and gazed at the view for a while. The birds had Maggie fascinated, and she loved watching them. There is a little sign at the the Point that tells that the area was named after Sir Edward Hallstrom (1886-1970), a philanthropist and local industrialist. His home ‘Figtree House’ (now demolished) fronted Coolawin Road. Its grounds contained a private zoo, an in-ground salt-water swimming pool and a ballroom. I wondered what it looked like, so I went in search of some old photos, it would have been so fascinating to have been able to go for a tour around it. Find an image of Hallstrom's Old House here
Maggie's Diary - Play Ball!

Hi family! Here I am again... I thought the sitters might like to play a game, so I took them downstairs to the yard, and taught them how to play ball.
We had lots of exercise and it really made me hungry for my snacks.

I miss you but don't worry as I'm having lots of fun and giving the sitters plenty of snuggles. I thought that today I'd take them for a walk around to the water...
Lots of snuffles and tail wags from Maggie ♥
Maggie's diary

Day One:
Hi my lovely family, Maggie here - I am settling the housesitters in and have taken them for their first walk, they went great and I showed them some of the neighbourhood. I've had my dinner and I'm watching some TV... I thought I'd put the sitters to bed soon and get an early start in the morning as I've got a lot to show them tomorrow! I hope you're all having a good flight and give my love to everyone over there. Love Maggie.

PS - bring me back a treat?
The Dangers of Dog Friendly Cafes...
There are some dangers involved in house sitting, so if you are thinking of starting to house sit, I've put added some images just to warn you of what you may face...
When innocently wandering by a dog friendly cafe you may be faced with choices that are tempting. So this post comes with a disclaimer - be aware of dog friendly cafes.
We innocently just wandered in for a coffee, but then we saw the cabinet... and gave into temptation very quickly. The food was better than you can ever imagine, and if there is a food heaven on earth I think I found it here.
It would be worth the flight to Melbourne, just to go to Laurent
Later on, we wandered - down to Brighton Beach and visited the adorable beach huts.
Aren't they gorgeous?
Let's Dance
On our travels we enjoy being able to attend a dance class or a night out dancing - today we were lucky to have a private class with teachers Hosanna & Anibal... some people have been interested in finding out more about Argentine Tango, so we thought we'd pop in a video of these two wonderful dancers.

One more sleep

Well our last day in Melbourne and we have so enjoyed caring for Bootsy and Angel. This is a picture of Bootsy with Half Moon Bay in the background.. We wandered down to Cerberus Beach House last night for dinner, what a lovely place to eat, the food is absolutely wonderful, and the service is fantastic. What a delight to find such a welcoming place, with people who truly are highly skilled in hospitality and who obviously love what they are doing. But just as well we are going home tomorrow, Melbourne has such great food, it's all too tempting.
