We ought to do good to others as simply as a horse runs, or a bee
makes honey, or a vine bears grapes season after season
without thinking of the grapes it has borne.

Restaurant at the vineyard - Tango art by Leanne Prussing
An impromptu lunch today in the vineyard... It was a gorgeous sunny day, and we didn't actually intend to laze in the sun over lunch at a lovely restaurant - but that's where we ended up. The days are so gorgeous at present warm as toast and this spot was a great one to stop at for lunch.
Cozy chairs,
a sundrenched deck,
beckon us to rest.
Lightly
a bird arrives
to join us -
and then another,
waiting...
hinting at a request.
Light streaming,
creating rainbows,
the vineyard rests,
with us.

Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth. ~ Hugh Macmillan, "Rejuvenescence," The Ministry of Nature, 1871
